Dr. Gross was born and raised in Maryland and graduated from high school in Montgomery County. He received a B.S. at the University of Maryland and the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia in 1969. After practicing in Seattle, Washington, Dr. Gross entered the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps and was assigned to the prestigious Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed where he worked in comparative animal medicine and pathology. In 1975, Dr. Gross left the U.S. Army for a post doctoral fellowship at the John's Hopkins University Medical School. In 1978, Dr. Gross joined the staff of the center of Veterinary Medicine of the Food and Drug Administration serving as an FDA scientist until opening Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital in August Of 1981. Dr. Gross resides in Howard County with his wife, Marcia, and three children.
Dr. Gross has worked with cats for 35 years and has developed a considerable experience working with cats. In addition offering the best care for kittens and adult cats, he is particularly interested in senior feline care. He recognizes that many of these senior pets have special needs such as kidney, heart, and oral health problems. With careful nurturing, these older animals can live more comfortable and longer lives.
